Sellers spend real time piecing together account history, past meetings, and outstanding actions before a call. Service teams switch between the CRM, email, and knowledge base to resolve a single case. In July 2026, Microsoft moved Sales Agent and Service Agent — its two purpose-built agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot — to general availability, bringing agentic AI directly into Dynamics 365 Sales and Customer Service workflows.

What They Do

  • Sales Agent surfaces account and deal context, opportunity details, and past meeting notes, and drafts personalised, CRM-grounded emails — available in Dynamics 365, Copilot, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Service Agent summarises cases and customer timelines, recommends next best actions, drafts customer-ready emails, and updates records in-flow — reasoning across Dynamics 365 and Microsoft 365 rather than staying inside the CRM alone.
  • A follow-up update on 15 July 2026 extended Service Agent with more than 90 tools covering case lifecycle management, knowledge access, and document generation, and gave it the ability to carry context and chat history across applications.

Why It Matters for Sales and Service Teams

  • Both agents are grounded in existing Dynamics 365 data, so the context they surface reflects records your team already trusts — not a generic AI guess.
  • Work that used to mean switching between the CRM, inbox, and knowledge base can now happen in one place, in natural language, without leaving the flow of a call or a case.

Team-Based Work, With a Human Still in the Loop

  • Cowork plugins for Dynamics 365 Sales and Customer Service, generally available since June 2026, extend this further — orchestrating multi-stakeholder deals and coordinating cross-team service cases from a single workspace.
  • Every action is proposed for review, not taken silently. Access follows existing Dynamics 365 and Microsoft 365 permissions, and rollout can be phased by role, app module, and queue.

Getting Started

  • Sales Agent and Service Agent require Dynamics 365 Sales or Customer Service (Enterprise or Premium) plus a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence.
  • Before rolling out, review licensing and environment readiness, and identify which parts of your sales or service workflow — meeting prep, case handovers, follow-up drafting — would benefit most from agent support.

V-Work can help assess readiness, licensing, and the right adoption path for your organization.
